Arufa And Group's story

36-year-old Arufa is a rural woman who lives with her family in Burdwan district of West Bengal, India. Arufa and her husband run a modest grocery shop adjacent to their house. Her husband is also engaged in their grocery shop. They have been successfully running the shop for last 10 years. Gradually their customers are also increasing and thus the demand is also increasing. But due to high demand of essential commodities they are unable to purchase the grocery items and thus unable to meet the customer demands. They want to expand their business. So Arufa seeks a loan to purchase more grocery items like rice, biscuits, cakes, snacks, mixture, soaps, shampoo, and oils. Arufa has formed a group of 21 women who have come together to apply for a group loan. Just like Arufa, they need a loan to expand their respective businesses. They believe that the increased income from the expansion of their businesses will help them cover their expenses comfortably. They thank their lenders.
