Sintha Lup Group's loan finished fundraising,
but these similar borrowers just need a little more help to reach their goals!

A loan helped to buy different, colorful textured yarns and other necessary raw materials for weaving.

Sintha Lup Group's story

Mala is 40 years old, married and has four children (three sons and a daughter) who are still pursuing their studies. Her husband is a driver and they all reside in Khoirom, Manipur. She is the representative of the group Sintha Lup and also the featured borrower with her hand raised in the picture. Weaving and sand sieving are the most common activities in the region.

Mala is a hardworking woman and she tries supporting her family by weaving. Since her husband's income is too meager to support her family and meet the daily needs, she started weaving but due to the shortage of income, she is unable to buy raw materials for weaving, which leads to less profit as she cannot weave more.

Mala applied for a loan from WSDS to purchase different, colorful, textured yarns and raw materials for weaving so that she can weave more clothes and earn more income than before so that she will be able to meet the daily needs of her family and pay for her children's educational fees. She is very thankful and is looking forward to the loan.

Likewise, the rest of the members are engaged in activities like weaving, sand sieving, and petty shops and are very thankful to the funders and WSDS. They are looking forward to the loan to start their respective income-generating activities.
