A loan helped to buy a necessary power generator to avoid electricity supply problems in his region and finish his work on time.

Salim's story

Salim, a hard-working, 52-year-old Palestinian refugee, has been working in furniture-making for 30 years. This wide experience provided him with customers' trust and recommendations. Salim is a married father of four. He puts so much effort into developing his business to provide his children with the best education, especially now that three of them are enrolled in a private school.

Salim is devoted to his business and its development. Electricity is a necessity, but in his region, it's a problem which he is working hard to overcome. To keep his work developing properly, he is acquiring a loan from Kiva's field partner, Al Majmoua Lebanese Association for Development, to buy a necessary power generator to avoid electricity supply problems in his region and finish his work on time.

Salim hopes to remain capable of developing his business to make sure he can provide his children with the university degrees he works hard to secure.

Salim has two employees who help him to finish his work and he hopes to increase the number of employees in the future, to increase his projects.
