Akoma Ntoso Group's story

Florence is a 43-year-old woman (the one in the middle in the group picture). She hails from Hemang in the Twifo Lower Denkyira District of the Central Region of Ghana. Florence is married with four children, one of whom is currently pursuing his education at the senior high school level.

Florence is the leader of Akoma Ntoso Group. Her husband, a seasoned cocoa farmer, has been responsible and very supportive. A few years ago, Florence had an idea to start a business, manufacturing soaps and bathing gel, as well as soft drinks. She has been successful over the years in the business since she has increased the sale of her products.

Florence believes, with the help of the loan, she will be able to buy necessary items, such as soap chemicals, palm oil, oranges, sugar, packs of Nido and cocoa powder, for the production of soaps and soft drinks.

She will use part of her income from her sales to expand her business in terms of infrastructure, to be able to increase the number of trainee intake from the current number of seven trainees.
Florence will also save part of her profits, which will help improve her earnings in order to succeed in life and be able to provide a good example for her children. She has good references from her friends and neighbors who know her to be hard working, responsible and committed to her work.

She needs Kiva microloan support to be able to produce more of her products to meet customer demand. Florence and her other group members thank all their Kiva lenders for their loan support.
