A loan helped to buy raw materials and a power loom for her traditional woven clothing business.

Safia's story

Attention to detail, dedication, and passion for her work are what drive Safia to succeed. She is a 55-year-old woman who works making traditional woven clothing. She works every day for the sake of her family, who live in a community in Multan, Pakistan. Her husband can’t do more work because he is a patient with many illnesses.

Nothing is more important to Safia than her seven children, one of whom (a son) attends college. That is why she is always seeking to develop her business. Her main source of income is her business weaving traditional clothing.

In order to continue her success, she is now requesting a loan from Kiva’s field partner BRAC Pakistan, which she will invest in buying materials such as threads, dyes in different colors and a power loom.

Safia and her family will be thankful to Kiva’s lenders and field partner BRAC Pakistan for helping them by funding this loan to improve their living standards.
