Koba's loan finished fundraising,
but these similar borrowers just need a little more help to reach their goals!

A loan helped to make an electric billboard and rent it out.

Koba's story

Koba, who is 45 year-old divorced man, lives in Tetritskaro district. He has only a pensioner mother and a small poultry farm. Koba sells eggs locally and gets a small income, that is really hardly enough for the family to meet even their basic needs.

In the region there is a high unemployment rate, but self-employment helps the inhabitants to make a living. So, Koba decided to start his own business with the loan but the local credit providers usually demand experience and some stable income from the borrowers. His credit requests were rejected several times, as he was unable to satisfy their requirements. At last Koba received the credit in the framework of a joint initiative of Kiva and Credo - Startup Program that gives rural poor people the chance to start or re-start businesses. A loan of 2500 GEL will be a great help to the borrower, as he will make an electric billboard in a good location, at the center of Tetritskaro, and will rent it out at a good price.

The new business initiative will be a great chance for this motivated man to make a stable source of income and provide better living conditions for his family. Koba and his mother rely on the good will of the lenders and will be very thankful for the loan.
