Mrs. Badiola, 53 years old (the one seated on far right raising her hand) is the star borrower of the group. She is married and has five children: three sons and two daughters. She retails peanut paste. With her new loan, Badiola will buy ten pails of peanut paste at 5,000 West African francs each to resell at retail prices, replenishing her stock every 15 days. Thanks to her revenues, she plans to cover the cost of healthcare, clothing and food for her children.
