Kiva Loan Dedication

Grace lives in the Likoni district of Coast Province, Kenya. She is married and has three school-going children. She owns a grocery shop--a business which has been running for one year. In the business, she sells foodstuffs, household goods, etc. She also sells charcoal. She learned about Milango through friends who invited her to the group and she joined with the aim of accessing credit to improve her business operations. Her main challenges are inflation and bad debts. Grace is applying for a loan of 74,450 Kenyan shillings to buy retail stock e.g. maize, beans, rice and cooking fat. The extra income from the loan will be added to her savings to improve upon the living standard of her family and pay school fees for her children. She aspires to open a mini wholesale store.

To: Grace W.

I chose this loan because... Of all of us you (and Leroy) have perhaps best fulfilled the intent of Junior Year abroad programs! I loved meeting you and your husband and I am grateful for your work in making our reunion happen.
