Sandra is 43 years old and the mother of four children between the ages of 8 and 16. She has 18 years of experience working in the maintenance and sales of water filters. Eight years ago, Sandra opened her own business, from which she makes a living and supports her family. Now she works installing and selling everything related to water filters. Currently, she supplies many important organizations in Colombia's beautiful capital, Bogotá. Sandra's principle products include filters for freezers, ozone water filters, ultraviolet filters and activated carbon filters. She works persistently in order to reach her goal of acquiring a house. Sandra needs to reduce the prices of her products in order to be more competitive and enter new markets. She plans to buy supplies in larger quantities in order to get discounts and also have a better stock of products. This is quite a challenge for Sandra, since she does not have enough working capital yet. That is why she is requesting her first Kiva loan, which is also her first loan with the Fundación Mario Santo Domingo. She will use this loan to buy activated carbon in larger quantities and spare parts to assemble purifiers. Sandra is very disciplined and she plans to stay organized in her accounting in order to be able to expand her business and offer her children better opportunities to succeed.
