Kiva Loan Dedication

Pursat Province,…

Ech is a resident originally from a rural area of the Kror Kor district of Pursat province in Cambodia. She is a 52-year-old married woman with five children, one of whom (daughter) is still dependent on her. Ech, with support from her husband, works as a rice farmer on one hectare of farmland to support her family. To add more income to the family, she also raises pigs. Ech has 15 years of experience in her current business, earning approximately 16,000 KHR per day. Now she is requesting a loan in the amount of 1,000,000 KHR. This will be Ech’s second-cycle loan from VisionFund (Kiva’s partner). The first loan that she applied for with VisionFund has helped her unload her family's difficulty and upgrade their livelihood. Her new request will be used to purchase more pigs for raising, and a small portion of it will be used to fix her house. She hopes to earn more income from her business and to fix her house on time, especially for the rainy season.
