Before starting her business, she had only done housework, but when her husband left her she found herself with no choice but to come up with a source of income for her family and decided to sell clothing as a mobile vendor in various communities. She buys her merchandise in the national capital, San Salvador, travelling there every eight days to look for merchandise at a good price. The loan she's requesting from the Fundación Campo [Kiva field partner] is to buy more merchandise and to build a room for her oldest son. In this way she will better stock her business and improve her home so that her family can live a more comfortable, safe, and dignified life. She also plans to install a fence around her property for greater security.
