Poniki Amoreha is mother of four children, three of whom are still in primary school while the older is currently attending university.

She and her husband are landowners. On their land they have built their home. On that same land they have another property where they have built a rental home for students who don’t have accommodation on campus at the local university.

The rental home has ten bedrooms, which they rent at PGK 120 ($30) a fortnight. They have seen a good income from this rental property. Their monthly rental income is PGK 4,120 ($200). What they earn from their rentals is used to pay the water bill, electricity bill and small maintenance that they need to do for the rental accommodations.

Since the beginning of their business late last year, they have seen a good income and are keen to build another flat to rent. Also, the demand for housing has increased, and she doesn’t want to miss this business opportunity. She is requesting a loan to help her supplement her current savings and purchase building materials for the new flat.
