What is Kiva?
Kiva is the world's first person-to-person micro-lending website, empowering
individuals to lend directly to unique entrepreneurs across the globe. As a lender, you can choose who to lend to -- whether a baker in Afghanistan or a goat herder in Uganda -- and as the entrepreneur repays the loan, you get your money back. For more
information view our About section.
What happens if I join this team?
You register for your own Kiva account, and as you lend to entrepreneurs, you can
choose to "count" your loans towards your team's impact. The loan is still yours, and repayments still come to you - but you can also choose to have the loan show up in the team's collective portfolio, so the team's overall impact will grow!
How do I make a Kiva loan?
Select an entrepreneur on the Kiva website, checkout, and receive updates as the
entrepreneur repays the loan. At the end of the loan term, re-lend repaid loan funds to a
new entrepreneur or withdraw them from Kiva. To get to know a few of the entrepreneurs
fundraising now, view our Lend page. |
