One of those groups is Sustainable Health Enterprises (SHE), an organization that is working with women in Rwanda to create businesses that manufacture and sell sanitary pads using locally-grown materials. Girls and adult women in Rwanda and other developing nations miss up to 50 days of school and work a year because they lack access to affordable sanitary pads.
