Kiva Lending Team: Basic utilities
We loan because...
we have read too many loan descriptions for borrowers who don't have running water or electricity - basic utilities that we take for granted every day. We feel sad when we see borrowers who need to borrow money to waterproof or repair their homes because 'everything gets wet when it rains'. We think it sucks that people need to borrow money to install a basic bathroom in their home to 'improve their family's hygiene'. Our focus is Kiva borrowers who work hard to ensure their families have a warm, dry place to live. It's not much to ask, is it?
