They have joined the microfinance institution Soro Yiriwaso in order to better organize their farming activities at the start of the rainy season. Among other crops, they grow groundnuts, millet, okra and sesame.  They are on their sixth loan with the institution. 

In the photo, Gna, the featured borrower, is the first person from the right in the sitting row.  She plans to use this new loan to cover the cost of plowing and to buy agricultural inputs and small tools to maintain 1.5 hectare (3.7 acres) of land on which she grows millet and groundnuts.

After the harvest, she sells her crop in the town of Kaladougou to a customer base which consists of men and women. She is expecting to make a profit of about 60,000 CFA francs per growing season.
