Eustaquio doesn’t earn very much and with the little he earns he helps with his family’s food costs because they don’t have health insurance. Eustaquio’s dream is to be able to become independent to improve his income and his quality of life. This is the first time he’s asked for a loan from IMPRO and KIVA. In general, Impro clients live in peri-urban zones of the cities of La Paz and El Alto. The houses they live in have one or two unfinished rooms; sometimes there is no bathroom and the floors are either dirt or cement. The loans they request are to do home improvements to be able to offer their families more comfort.

She lives in her own home located in the Satélite neighborhood of La Paz city. She currently has income from her pension and from an anticretic loan on a room in her houses. (An anticretic loan is a legal term whereby a landlord can let a tenant live in a room, two rooms, or an apartment, for an agreed amount on signing the contract and for a fixed period of time. At the end of this, the landlord must return the money to the tenant, who must vacate the premises). She is requesting this loan to return this aniticretic money, as she wants her daughter to live with her. This is because the money her daughter earns is not sufficient to support her children, as she is a single mother and lives in a rental. In this way Martha will be able to help her daughter to save money on rent, and to invest this money in food and education for her children. Martha's dream is to build more rooms to help provide comfort and security for her children, as they don't earn much. This is her first time working with IMPRO and her first time with Kiva.

Faviola works many hours under dangerous conditions that exist in the streets, such as robberies and traffic accidents.

The loan she is requesting will be used to buy merchandise, such as sportswear, so that she will have goods to sell. Faviola's dream is to have an established vending post so that she can improve her earnings for supporting her son. She is the only one providing for the expenses of her family.

The work Mario does is dangerous because he works until the wee hours of the night meeting his contractual obligations and what little he earns is to cover food, utilities and medical expenses because he does not have health insurance for his family. The loan he’s requesting is to add two rooms to his house to have more comfort because his son is attending secondary school and he needs his own space. With what little that he earns, he is able to cover the rent and feed his son. His job is dangerous because he must work during some of the overnight shifts.

The loan he is requesting will be used to acquire housing through an "anticrético" agreement (a contract to rent property whereby the renter pays the landlord a fixed sum at the start of the rental period in lieu of paying monthly rent; at the end of the rental period, the tenant receives the sum back, in full, from the landlord, thus resulting in rent-free living). This will enable him to save and avoid paying rent. The money he saves will be invested in his son.
