   			Martinette is the Chairwoman of the group named “Sanza Plus” which means “Moon” in English made up of 16 members firmly united to receive loans from the MFI (micro-finance institution) HOPE RDC in order to develop their businesses.

Martinette was elected by the group to succeed Antoinette who would like to focus on her businesses this cycle. Martinette sells beverages to the east of Kinshasa. She has been in business since 2005. She joined one of Hope’s groups (a DRCongo Microfinance program) in 2010 and received seven loans, all of which she has paid back regularly. She has worked hard to develop her business. With the high demand of the clients, Martinette intends with the next loan to buy 10 crates of drinks and some miscellaneous goods in bulk for resale at a profit and increase her income. She hopes to generate more profit to support her family. Currently, her business generates about US$150 of profit per week. Martinette’s ambition is to open a beverage facility and deliver beverages in her environment. She is 26 years old and a mother of five children whose ages vary between 1 and 12. Three of them go to school.

   			Guy is the chairman of the community bank, Prospérité Plus, which is composed of 20 members united in solidarity to receive loans from Kiva through HOPE DRC with the goal of developing their businesses. 

Guy runs a telephone booth west of Kinshasa and is a money changer. He began his business in 2009. His beginning capital was US $100. With hard work and determination, his business has prospered. Guy is now well-known and liked in this area because of his prospering business. He is a trustworthy client who has received four HOPE DRC loans and fully repaid them. He makes US $120 in profit each week. Guy intends with the next loan to purchase more prepaid cards to meet his customers&#039; demands and generate additional profits. He is 38 years old, married, and a father of two children (ages two and four), and one of them goes to school. His ambition is to become a prepaid card provider in his area.

Ben makes his living by selling home appliances at the market. He began his business in 1997. With hard work and determination, his business has prospered. Ben is now well-known and liked through his business. He is a trustworthy client who received three times the MFI HOPE DRC loans and fully repaid them. Since that time his business has prospered, and the loans he has received have helped him rent a well-located business place. He makes about US $120 of profit each week. 

Ben intends to use the next loan to purchase more home appliances in bulk to meet the customer demand and generate additional profits. He is 33 years old, married, and a father of three children, aged between 6 months and 8 years old, of whom two go to school. His ambition is to open a general store in his area.
