It would be a very good opportunity since without it he would have to pledge the crop, as in previous years, to intermediaries who take advantage of him to buy it at a low price. The difficculties that have risen so far are that during the coffee cutting season there isn't enough manpower available, so the coffee beans fall off and he suffers some losses. At times, he does not have enough money to pay for labor. The advantage Jorge has is that there is a high demand for coffee and he gets paid a good price. Jorge needs the loan he is requesting to purchase fertilizer and clear the land in order to plant the coffee beans, and to pay for labor. One of his goals is to have a larger coffee plantation.
