This is the case of 41-year-old Flor de María who is married and has two dependent children. For more than seven years, she has been selling iced treats in the summer and 'emoliente' (a local drink) in the winter. She works as hard as she is able in order to get ahead in life for the good of herself and her family. In the future, she would like to have a much better equipped ice cream parlor. She will use her loan to stock up with merchandise, buying products for the winter season. In common with Flor De María, the other members of the group each have their own personal story. First, she began selling vegetables, but due to the hardship that it brought, she decided to leave that and change to the category of groceries. In her business she offers her clients many types of beans, noodles and diverse bread products to carry out. With the fruit of this labor she completed the purchase of the stall that she rented before, and today she owns it and another one where her daughter works. Her work has permitted her to do many things; the items she thinks are the most important are giving her three children a good education and the improvement of her home. In the future she wants to move her business to her house and to convert it into a wholesale grocery.
