Bio:
Whitney was first on an airplane at 5 days old and has been traveling ever since. Besides the many mission trips to the Caribbean and Latin America, she traveled independently throughout Europe, the Middle East, and the Americas. After graduating from University of Florida, she moved to New York City to work at a hedge fund, performing financial research for the CEO and founding partner. During her three years there, she also volunteered at the International Center where she taught English and helped foreigners become better acclimated to life in the USA. Inspired by the people she taught, Whitney left her job and began a year of travel which included volunteer work in Laos, Vietnam, and Cambodia. She spent two months working at an NGO in Siem Reap where she taught English at an orphanage and secured the first large grant for the organization. After seeing firsthand the struggles of so many around the world, Whitney is excited to learn about microfinance as a tool to give people a chance to improve their lives and communities.
