Kiva Lender: Village School Foundation

Location: Salem, OR United States
Occupation: Students and inmates
I loan because: As human beings we are constantly making choices every minute of every day either on a conscious or subconscious level. With the choices that we make, comes the responsibility for accepting what we experience in life. As children from poor villages of Viet Nam, did we choose poverty? As inmates in the only maximum-security prison in Oregon, did we choose to be locked up? In a world where children have no choices and where people made wrong choices collide, we're here to keep hope alive. We want to share with KIVA that with a little bit of hope the world can be a better place. In prison we maybe Ð but imprisoned we are not.
