I feel fortunate to live in Canada with no worries about where my next meal is coming from or where I will sleep tonight. Although I worked hard to achieve this level of security, I can certainly recall the early days when I lived hand to mouth and was afraid to answer the phone for fear it would be a bill collector. I can also remember, with tremendous gratitude, some specific instances where people helped me along the way.
All around the world, women who are mothers, wives, sisters, aunts and friends are looking for ways to improve their lives and those of their families... and as long as I have the means at my disposal, I will do what I can to help these women. Through participation in microlending programs such as this, they have a tremendous opportunity to realize their dreams and attain financial independence and as lenders, we have the opportunity to give them the helping hand they need to achieve that success.
