I loan because:
I worked hard for my success but recognize the inherent privileges I had because of my place of birth, gender and race. At present, microlending is my ability level for philanthropic gifts but, in its own way, brings about social justice through empowerment.
About me:
I am one of a team of gatekeepers charged with constructing an undergraduate community at a small college in New England. I globetrot giving public presentations on the value of residential liberal arts and the beauty of the American higher education system. Then I have the privilege of reading hundreds of applications, gaining insight into the narratives of today's youth. I grant admission (and financial aid) to some candidates, hopefully changing the direction of their lives and ideally reconstructing the social stratification through the power of education.
