Bio:
Sandra graduated from Tufts University with a B.A. in Spanish and Economics in 2008. Born and raised in Massachusetts, her passion for international travel began in her youth during family trips to Portugal and Cape Verde. Her enthusiasm intensified during a service trip to Veracruz, Mexico and later while studying abroad in Madrid. After a stint in the private sector working in asset management, Sandra escaped to southern Chile as a UNDP volunteer with Inglés Abre Puertas. Upon returning to the U.S., she worked with a leading microenterprise training organization in the San Francisco Bay Area. Sandra first joined the Kiva community as a lender and is thrilled to be heading to Honduras. She hopes this marks the start of a fruitful career in microfinance. Along with Spanish, Sandra is fluent in Cape Verdean Creole.
