I loan because:
I understand the universal importance of being self-sufficient. This is a human goal we should ALL be allowed the opportunity to achieve. If I, by lending a small sum of money, can help give even one individual the opportunity & enable him/her to independently provide for themselves and their family - I have hope. If we can find the resources to support even one person in supporting themselves, poverty is doomed to utter extinction. I believe that charity, while important, is only a band-aid, opportunity is the cure. I'm especially interested in loaning in the education, agriculture and manufacturing sectors. An old and overused proverb which still rings true: "Give a man a fish and you feed him for a day. Teach a man to fish and you feed him for a lifetime."
