I loan because:
Being involved with Kiva allows me to do something that I've wanted to do - namely, microfinancing, but I didn't know how to do so. It makes sense for me to share my resources with other people in parts of the world I may never see. Doing so helps me to become familiar their lives and cultures. And, being a lender helps me in my quest to be a peaceful world citizen.

I also think that learning to share resources opens my heart up to God and acknowledges that my life should be lived in connection to a broad community.

About me:
I work with upper school students in an Episcopal school in southern California. I am the director of college counseling, and I teach a class in philosophy and ethics..
