I loan because:
microlending is the most direct way in which I feel I can make a difference in the life of fellow members of my species somewhere else on this precious planet. Specifically, I honor and celebrate those who have given me a chance by reaching out and extending a hand to others.
About me:
By trade I am neuroscientist who studies the basic mechanisms of neurological disorders such as Parkinson's, and drug addiction. For as long as I remember, however, I have also been an activist for environmental issues. I spend a lot of my spare time working in environmental education where we have converted an old farmstead into a conservation and restoration area. We work with kids at local schools to teach them the value of natural resources and ways to use them in a sustainable fashion. We help the community raise vegetables locally, offer workshops in beekeeping, and facilitate a seed business for native prairie wildflowers.
