Bio:
Originally from Toronto, Canada, Richard graduated from the University of Waterloo with a B.A.Sc. in Systems Design Engineering and a B.A. in Economics. Following his graduation, Richard spent a few years working in the technology organization at Expedia, Inc. It was here that he had the opportunity to lead and manage the development of several game-changing initiatives within the travel industry. With a determination to do greater things, Richard continues to seek opportunities that make an impact. When a friend and former colleague joined the 14th Kiva Fellows class, Richard realized that there was no better way to spend his next few months. As a Kiva Fellow, he will have the chance to learn about microfinance in-depth, get a new perspective on life in another country, and, most importantly, have the opportunity to make an impact on the lives of others. Richard is excited to relocate to Nairobi, Kenya, where he believes he will be able to employ his skills to create positive change.
