Bio:
Rachel was born and raised in Seattle, Washington. She studied International Relations with an emphasis on the politics of international development at Western Washington University where she was passionately involved in developing and growing the university's Model United Nations program. Following the completion of her degree, Rachel was thrown headfirst into the world of finance when she went on to work in the Retirement Plan division for a mutual fund company that specializes in Islamic investing. She spent the majority of her professional career promoting financial literacy and helping individuals and businesses navigate the complex nature of the retirement plan savings landscape. Un-fulfillment in the corporate world and an unyielding desire to contribute firsthand to the alleviation of poverty led Rachel to pursue an MBA to gain a deeper understanding of successful business practices and how to help create meaningful economic growth. Rachel is extremely excited to put her experience in the financial services industry to work ground in microfinance with KosInvest.
