I loan because:: If a family can support themselves, their children can go to school and I believe that education is the key to making the world a safer, better home for all of us. Supporting women's education and financial independence is especially important to me because the mother is the heart of the family and her success will lead her children to a better life. I am also a hobby seamstress, so sewing is one of my favorite Kiva businesses.
About me:: Wife's primary job is homemaker, but she also works part-time helping people over the phone while children are in school. Husband is a businessman that works in a large office building. Our children help us choose our Kiva partners. One child is studying medical research at a major university and specializing in the parasites that cause problems in many of the Kiva countries. One child is independent while the other is still in school.
