I loan because:
We are a group of people that get together from time to time to play some friendly poker. Several years back one of our coworkers, Pam Handrich, passed away from cancer. We were looking for a way to carry on her memory and started raising funds. After a few months we had about $250 saved up and didn't know what to do with it. One of the members of the group suggested we donate it to Kiva and the rest is history. We now donate money at each one of our get-togethers, with the goal being to raise at least $25 to take out a new loan. As these are loans and not gifts, her memory will live on with each loan repayment as we provide another loan.
