I loan because:
even if I know that it is not very intelligent to give loans at 0% interest rate, I do not follow the argument that this "destroys common lending structures and banks". This would be so, if there was a saturated market. But in fact there is so much need in financing, that often is not available (lack of securities, transaction cost) to the poor. And the Microfinance banks I know here in the country, they are really exclusive, borrowing money to a few "chosen ones". I think this is a good way, not to invest, but to give some charity, that matters and can bring forward self empowerment.
About me:
Actually I am working in Tanzania in German development cooperation in the area of Public Private Partnerships, implementing medium and small scale projects in various sectors.
