Peter’s enthusiasm for new cultures began when he lived with a wonderful family in rural Uruguay as a 16-year-old high school exchange student. This transformative adventure awakened his wanderlust and he has since backpacked, hiked and traveled on extended trips in over 50 countries. Closer to home, Peter tutored recent arrivals in English as a Second Language (ESL) and taught in a bilingual middle-school classroom with Haitian-speaking students. When not traveling or volunteering, Peter worked in marketing for a publishing company and as a software engineer, business analyst, project manager and independent consultant for global technology and manufacturing companies. After 20 years in the private sector, Peter is excited to be working in microfinance and serving the larger world community with Kiva.
