I loan because:
We have started loaning on Kiva in honour of our father, Eugene McDaniels who passed away in August 2008. Our Dad worked tirelessly to educate people on the need for change, he wrote a paper called Rationale Reincarnation and Prime Democracy and shared it with all who would listen. It was his belief that people need to be included in the decisions that are made by political powers and that the health of ALL people and the planet must come before the minority lust for wealth and power. He wrote letters to leaders around the world sharing his beliefs. Every year he donated to charities to help others less fortunate. Our Dad would have seen Kiva as a tool of empowerment for people who would otherwise have no options but to live in abject poverty....we love you Dad, thanks for passing on to us your beliefs, for role modeling being the change and for speaking out even when know one wanted to listen, you made a difference and we will carry on your legacy starting with the opportunity that Kiva gives us to be part of the solutions that will lead us all to a better future.
About me:
I (Linda) work in Youth Projects at an Intercultural Society, we do trainings called Inclusive Leadership which brings together people from all different walks of life, different cultures, ages economic status, abilities, sexual orientations and many other differences, we co-create a community based on respect, safety, positive choice and fun. Our philosophy is that our differences are gifts that enrich our communites and are not problems that need to be solved....
