Helping people help themselves is one of the most amazing things that a person can do. My husband Brand and I lived in India a few years back and saw first hand the kind of impact that micro-loans could have to support the industriousness of people who are striving to improve their businesses families and communities. I admire the way that micro-finance institutions demonstrate a powerful capacity to change the opportunities and standing of women in developing countries. The peer to peer micro-lending model that Kiva has developed is a phenomenal way to have a direct impact on the lives of people that need a hand up.
