- Every person in the World does not have it as well as most of the United States and other industrialized countries. Over 1.5 Billion live on less than $1 a day. And what is worse is that because of problems with poverty many people die unnecessarily. Children suffering in poverty die at a rate of one every 3.3 seconds.rnrnI feel that with Kiva, these loans make it possible for these persons to help make a living for themselves and their families. It is not simply a donation that will create "one meal".
