About me:
Korean barbecue (or KBBQ) can be traced to the Koguryo Era in Korean history. It was created by the nomadic tribe of Yemaek group. The range of their barbecue was the entirety of Korea and also Manchuria. Since they were always on the move and always on the move, the Yemaek people had plenty of time to marinate their food, but also needed a way to cook them quickly--thus, maekjeok was born. "Maek" is a reference to the Yemaek people, and "jeok" is the name for the skewers that were used to cook the meat over an open flame is "Maek". Then, a few hundred years later to the Korean Dynasty, followed by an Mongol invasion, and maekjeok lost the skewers. It evolved into the modern version, bulgogi. It's a sweet, savory marinated beef dish that is among the most sought-after dishes in korean bbq near me.
