Bio:
Leslie Kincaid grew up in Yakima, Washington and was fortunate to be exposed to travel and new cultures by her family at a young age. After graduating from high school, Leslie spent a year living in Germany and traveling throughout western Europe as a Rotary exchange student. Post travels, Leslie relocated to the Bay Area where she studied finance, German and international business at Santa Clara University. Leslie is exited to bring a background in both finance and social entrepreneurship to her Kiva fellowship. Leslie spent the past year working with the Jesuit Volunteer Corps in Portland Oregon. Her time in Portland was spent working at Sisters of the Road, a non-profit café that serves the poor and homeless nutritious meals in exchange for work. At Sisters of the Road, Leslie split her time between managing the café and working in development where she helped to bring in the funds needed to run the organization. Prior to joining the Jesuit Volunteer Corps, Leslie worked with entrepreneurs at Silicon Valley Bank where her experience dealing with transformative and empowered entrepreneurs had a profound effect on her philosophy towards finance and building sustainable businesses. Leslie is looking forward to further exploring the Kiva mission and supporting the work of Kiva in Freetown, Sierra Leone.
