Bio:
Leah's interest in exploring grassroots development led her to remain in northeast Ohio after graduating from Oberlin College to serve as Interim Director of Main Street Oberlin, a non-profit that supports small business owners and local economic development in downtown Oberlin. Leah also interned with Women for Women International, an organization that works to rebuild the lives of women survivors of conflicts in war-torn countries throughout the world. In April 2009, Leah accompanied National Endowment for Democracy staff to Kampala, Uganda to attend a conference for African human rights defenders and visited several organizations that support grassroots economic development among small businesses in Uganda. Leah is excited to revisit Eastern Europe, where she studied in Budapest while in college, and to serve with HOPE Ukraine in Zaporozhye. She looks forward to exploring the impacts of microlending hearing stories from entrepreneurs throughout Ukraine.
