Bio:
Kevin is a recent graduate of Wake Forest University in North Carolina, where he majored in Economics with a concentration in International Development and Policy. Kevin's passion for development work stems from over one year of independently traveling through sub-Saharan Africa and Southeast Asia in 2007-08. This past summer he was also fortunate to serve as a Global Development Intern in South Africa with ThinkImpact, a Washington, DC based NGO that works on rural community development in South Africa and Kenya. While this internship primarily focused on health and education initiatives, Kevin is eager to now utilize microfinance as a tool to help develop the emerging entrepreneurial class in Kenya. After completing this Fellowship, Kevin will begin an MPhil in Development Studies at the University of Cape Town in February 2011. He hopes this experience with Kiva provides an invaluable introduction to working in microfinance and a starting point to a future career in a related field.
