Bio:
After completing her bachelors degree in International Political Economy from the University of Puget Sound in 2009, Kelsey traveled to Peru to pursue a Fulbright Fellowship. She worked with female indigenous weavers in three highland communities on textile development and the preservation of longstanding weaving traditions that derive from Quechua culture. She sees person-to-person contact as an important part of international work and is excited for the opportunities as a Kiva Fellow that will bring her into the field. While working with Cooperativa San Jose in Ecuador, she looks forward to witnessing the impacts of microfinance on borrowers, improving her Quechua skills, and sharing her experiences with the international Kiva community.
