- I was traveling through east Africa a few years ago and had the chance to stay with a couple of NGO workers in a small village in western Kenya. It ended up being the house where Kiva was built. The volunteers there were associated with the Village Enterprise Fund and introduced us to the world of microfinancing in developing countries. I got to see first hand how much people can be helped with donations that seem like nothing to us.
