I loan because:
I believe that microfinance empowers entrepreneurs in developing countries (as well as developed ones)
About me:
Having spent the past couple of years working in finance, I am excited to volunteer as a Kiva Fellow (KF12) and see how microfinance works first-hand.

Bio:
Born and raised in Wellington, New Zealand, Joanne is a true kiwi at heart, despite having spent the last seven years in the United States. She graduated from Stanford University in 2006 with a BA in Economics and International Relations, where she was first introduced to the world of microfinance during a development economics class. Since completing her graduate degree in 2007, Joanne has spent the past three years working in finance. Having witnessed the sheer growth that can come from access to the debt capital markets at a corporate level, she is excited to see the tool of credit be put to use in a more meaningful setting. Joanne is equally excited to be returning to the Asia/Pacific region, as she works with MUK in Indonesia and NWTF in the Philippines.
