I believe our micro-loans are a powerful catalyst for change in three ways: for the individual entrepreneur, the entrepreneur's family and community, and society at large (especially in terms of substantiating the fact that everyone can make a difference).
I find it Kiva ridiculously elegant: we as lenders are offered a chance to create social impact while sitting in our comfy chairs at home or at the office. We barely have to lift a finger. To top it off, there is next to no financial or physical risk in making this impact. So I have to ask: why aren't more people loaning? I just don't get it.
About me:
I catalyze social innovation, which is any new idea that resolves social, cultural, environmental or economic challenges for the benefit of people and planet. Generally, these ideas are profoundly systems-changing--they attack the root causes of the problem and prevent it from occurring again.
