About me:
I am now a Kiva Fellow heading out to Vietnam!
Member Since:
Mar 2, 2008
Bio:
I was born in Kenya and have lived in Canada, Japan, England, Scotland and the US. Trained as a Chartered Accountant, I have spent my career in finance. Most recently I was the SEC Reporting Manager at Washington Mutual; my particular skill was writing about credit. By writing about grass roots finance while in Vietnam I believe I too can make a difference. To paraphrase Muhammad Yunus, I’d like to transition from being a bird’s eye financier to a worm’s eye practitioner, helping to introduce real and lasting change into people’s lives. Somewhat disillusioned with Corporate America, I approach the fellowship as a great first step in a possible career in microfinance.
