Bio:: George started his career at Adobe Systems as a programmer of Adobe Illustrator and Acrobat. He turned practitioner in the early 2000s, building web applications for Avantgo, which was later acquired by Sybase. George then joined PayPal as one of the first designers responsible for PayPal's intuitive user interface. PayPal went public in 2002 and was acquired by eBay later that year. He is the co-founder of Geni.com, a genealogy-based social networking website, which grew to over 20 million profiles in its first year. He is also the co-founder of Geni's innovative spin-off, Yammer.com, an enterprise communications tool, which won TechCrunch50's Best-in-Show. George is also a strategic consultant, advisor, and Board member of several early-stage internet companies. George's life goals are always pointing toward matching his calling to be a source of hope to the world. He believes that hope comes in the form of real, tangible, and sustainable solutions to social problems and the Kiva Fellows program is perfectly aligned with his goals.
