I loan because:
My sister loaned me some money when I was twelve years old. We went together to Sears and found some white fabric with red strawberries on sale and we bought some red rickrack too. We went home and I made several aprons. I went from house to house in the neighborhood selling the aprons explaining I was earning money for summer camp. I sold out the first batch and had to go back for more fabric. I was able to pay half my way to summer camp (my parents paid the other half) and pay my sister back. Small loans work. My sister helped me when I needed it. Kiva is an opportunity for me to help somebody as my sister helped me.
