- Flags is a students’ initiative that started as a project for the Honors College at FIU. The main purpose of such project is to foster in our society a greater sense of solidarity for communities from around the world that experience hardships of different kinds, and with which we don’t necessarily identify from a cultural point of view. In this way, the members of Flags, and all those who contribute with our cause, offer immediate support to such communities and demonstrate that by sharing our time and our resources—even if it is only a small portion—we can have a great positive impact in the wellbeing of others who need it.
