I loan because:
I believe that, even with this very modest amount of money, I can make a huge impact in the lives of people in the poorest places of the world. I can become a banker to those people and can monitor their progress. And people in their neighborhoods will see and they will look for micro-loans, and have their own ideas, so I can give them a chance to raise their kids with dignity, send them to school, and live better lives. And in troubled places like Afghanistan, we marginally increase the chance that peace can prevail, because people will see there is a positive alternative to conflict.
About me:
I develop information systems (software) at a public company owned by the Federal Government of Brazil. These software supports brazilian public administration. Our government clients are: Ministry of Finance, Ministry of Planning and Budget, Civil Cabinet of Republic Presidency, Ministry of Transportation, Ministry of Communication and Ministry of Education, among others. I am also involved in labour movement, being a member of a regional trade union of IT workers' board of directors.
